Signals signs
K53 traffic light signals and arrow signals
Every traffic signal in the K53 learners test — steady and flashing lights, arrow signals and pedestrian signals — with the action each one requires. There are 13 traffic light signals in the K53 Examiner study library below.
Lane control signal — Arrow Left(TS12)Leave the lane in the direction of the arrow.
Steady(TS11)Red Cross
Indicates to a driver that he/she shall not drive in the lane over which the cross is displayed. Lane might be open to vehicles travelling in the opposite direction.
Flashing Red Arrow to the Left(TS4)After stopping, the driver may turn if there is no traffic. Remember to yield to pedestrian traffic and oncoming traffic that wants to turn right, and traffic from the right passing through the intersection.
Constant Green Arrow(TS5)Shows the direction in which traffic must go, for example one-way streets.
Pedestrian Light Signal(TS9)Shows pedestrians that they may not cross the road until the green figure light signal is shown. If this sign flashes pedestrians who have not entered the roadway must wait until a green figure light signal shows. Pedestrians who are already in the intersection must cross the intersection as quickly as possible.
Traffic Signal(TS1)Obey the signal shown: red means stop, amber means stop unless it is unsafe, green means go if it is safe.
Flashing Red Light(TS8)At a railway crossing a flashing red light indicates that a train is coming and you may not drive on until the light stops flashing.
Lane control signal — Arrow Right(TS13)Leave the lane in the direction of the arrow.
Overhead Lane(TS10)Direction Control
Steady green downward pointing arrow
Indicates to the driver that he/she may drive in the lane over which the arrow is displayed
Amber(TS2)Stop
Except where it cannot be done safely.
Flashing
Amber Disc
Drive on carefully, but yield to pedestrians. Pedestrians may cross the roadway.
Green(TS3)Go if it is safe
Constant Amber Arrow(TS6)Stop and wait until the flashing green arrow shows you may go.
Flashing Green Arrows(TS7)Right of way in the direction of the flashing arrow.
