K53 road sign questions and answers

Road signs, signals and markings are their own section of the learners test and you must pass it on its own. These are real questions from the K53 Examiner bank, with the correct answer marked and explained.

1. A triangular sign (red border) showing a vehicle on a slope with motion lines indicates: #

  • Steep descent / slow-moving heavy vehicles ahead (correct answer)

  • A weighbridge ahead

Why: Triangular red-border signs are warning signs alerting you to a hazard ahead.

2. A round sign with a red border and a minibus symbol struck through means: #

  • Minibuses may pick up passengers here
  • No minibuses beyond this sign (correct answer)
  • Minibuses must turn here

Why: A round red-border sign with a red diagonal line is a prohibition (regulatory) sign.
